Save up to 88% on your medications

Hey there! It's time to get a jump on the Medicare changes for 2024. Every year brings new adjustments, and it's super important to stay in the loop to make the best choices for your health plan. Here's the lowdown on what's new and noteworthy:

Bigger Bills for Medicare Part B

In 2024, if you're part of Original Medicare (Part A and Part B) or a Medicare Advantage plan, you'll see a bump in your Part B monthly premium – it's going up to $174.70. That's a $9.80 increase (5.9%) from 2023. The annual deductible for Part B is also climbing up by $14 to $240. And if you're earning above a certain income, brace for an extra charge on your Part B premium, known as IRMAA (Income-Related Monthly Adjustment Amount). The income thresholds for this adjustment are now $103,000 for individuals and $206,000 for joint filers.

What's Medicare Part B All About?

Part B is your go-to for diagnosis, treatment, and preventive care. It's there for outpatient care, ambulance services, durable medical equipment, some outpatient prescription drugs, mental health care, and more.

A Slight Dip in Medicare Part D Premiums

Good news here! The average monthly premium for Medicare Part D prescription drug plans is expected to decrease a bit in 2024, dropping to $55.50 from $56.49. But, around 8% of Part D folks might face an IRMAA based on their income.

Decoding Medicare Part D

This part of Medicare provides prescription drug coverage. Whether you're enrolled in Original Medicare, Original Medicare with a supplement plan, or a private Medicare Advantage plan without a drug benefit, Part D is crucial. Remember to review these plans yearly to ensure your meds are covered and cost-effective.

More Medicare Part D Changes in 2024

There's a shake-up in Part D for 2024:

  • Catastrophic coverage is getting a revamp, putting a cap on out-of-pocket drug costs.
  • More people will qualify for the Part D low-income subsidy, helping cover deductibles, premiums, and drug costs.
  • Free adult vaccines! And a $35 cap on a month's supply of any insulin product.

Boost in Mental Health and Chronic Pain Coverage

Medicare's evolving! Now it includes mental health counselors and marriage and family therapists as providers. This expansion means more support for dealing with depression, anxiety, or substance use disorders. Chronic pain treatment is also getting more attention, with services like pain assessment and medication management.

Telehealth Services: The Future Beyond 2024

Telehealth is covered until the end of 2024. But from 2025, it'll mostly be available in medical facilities or offices in rural areas, with some exceptions like behavioral health and mental health evaluations.

Picking the Right Medicare Plan

Choosing the best Medicare coverage can be daunting, but there are resources to help, like the Senior Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) and medicare.gov. And, of course, chatting with family or friends can provide valuable insights.

RxLess: A Game Changer for Prescription Savings

Even with Medicare, it's worth checking out RxLess for prescription prices. Why? Because sometimes, RxLess offers prices that are lower than your Medicare co-pay, especially for generic drugs. It's a fantastic tool for both Medicare enrollees and those without insurance, helping you compare prices and find the most cost-effective options for your prescriptions. Always compare what you would pay with RxLess against your Medicare Part D plan to ensure you're getting the best deal.

Understanding these changes is key to making informed decisions about your healthcare coverage. And remember, there are savvy ways to save on medication costs, even if you're uninsured. Stay informed and stay healthy!
