National Health Centers Week 2022

Updated on August 6th, 2022

Save up to 88% on your medications

National Health Center Week is an annual celebration of the health centers and clinics, and the people who staff them, that provide necessary medical treatment to communities in every corner of the United States. Sponsored by several healthcare organizations, including Athenahealth, NextGen healthcare and United Healthcare, this year's event is happening August 7th through the 13th 2022

The theme of this year's National Health Center Week is " Community Health Centers: The Chemistry for Strong Communities". This year in addition to celebrating the work done at these communities, the goal is to educate the public as to just how important theses clinics and health centers are to the long term health a community and the people who live there.

Expected Events

Although National Health Center Week is a country wide event that is sponsored by national corporations, each clinic and healthcare center is free to celebrate it the way they see fit. That means that the events in your area may be somewhat different than those held in other places across the country.

The Pennsylvania Association of Community Health Centers, for instance, is using this week to promote continuing education for those who work in or manage health centers. Throughout the week, and at other times of the year, they offer webinars and training sessions to help medical professionals and members of management. These sessions are designed to keep these people up to date with the latest trends and technologies in healthcare.

Smaller organizations, like the Neighborhood Health Centers of the Lehigh Valley, choose this week to promote and celebrate the grand opening of a newly upgraded facility. They will be sponsoring a party of sorts including free food, music and kid friendly activities.

Regardless of where you live in the country, you or someone you know may have benefitted from the services provided by local healthcare centers. Take the time during the second week of August, or anytime, to appreciate the people who work there and the services they offer.
